Sigh.
Had this house been boarded and secured and monitored it would not have been set on fire.
This is a neglected block. It is all very sad.
No bulldozer on site yet.

I was on site ALL day. I can't tell you how FAST MCCD moved to get this taken down. It was like a race. The process of demo was very SLOW, which hampered our work at 1626. The gentleman in the photo was the demo contractor who demolished the home.

Which company had the demo contract? Did they take care not to damage any of the neighbor houses?

The guy I am talking to is Mike Floyd. He is slowing buying his dad's equipment. He's dad's name is the demo contractor. I stated to MCCD and to the contractor, that although I did not support demolition, and I did not wish for him to return to our neighborhood, he did indeed do a very careful job. He was very patient. The demo took a long time. No neighboring houses were damaged.

I do have to say, that most times, there isn't damage to neighboring houses...but am still glad to know that all went okay, even though it's a loss

They should have allowed us to get in there and salvage the wood that was in such great shape. Beautiful heart pine floors are now gone..........
