I will get more details from him, but I believe this is what he said last night:

Mom's house and she died so son now is trying to deal with maintenance issues but he doesn't have a job. I'll get the rest of the details and post here.

This quadrant REALLY needs some love, IMHO.

It so looks like they are trying.
Notice the Halloween and fall decorations?
The potted plants? The rocking chair?

The photo looks do-able. Sees just like minor cosmetics.

I went by and talked to Kenneth today. Long time Springfield resident under the gun with code enforcement. He is going to get me a copy of his citation tomorrow. He has 45 days to fix things. Code has been really kind to him though and he really likes the man who is helping him, I believe it is Mike O'Laughlin. I have a good relationship with Mike.

It is mainly siding issues, but this house's transformation could be as dramatic as Miss Maggie's. And Kenneth will be a great candidate to work with.

Check it out for yourself.

On disability. Gets $400 per month. Trying to fix up his house. Doesn't want to move. Has a teenage daughter. Helpful to his neighbors. On a rough block.

So what all does he need, other than it looks like from the photo, painting...

Needs a lot of siding -- could be expensive. Save your pennies.

Tomorrow he'll give me the code enforcement citation and we can look at the violations.

I like it. Seems like he is doing his part, which is good. Lets focus on the code enforcement issues and see what we should do. but looks like he got the details under control. I guess there would also be a good chance that he will keep the house maintained after we are done so the work would last.
