Mayor Alvin Brown’s office has hired political and public affairs adviser Teresa Eichner as new liaison to the Jacksonville City Council.

Eichner has been working as the political director for the Fraternal Order of Police, and had been involved with a range of political campaigns.

“We are very lucky to have her (and her nearly twenty years of public and governmental relations experience) as part of our team,” Brown chief of staff Chris Hand said in an email Tuesday.

Brown’s office plans to add a second liaison, Hand wrote.

Eichner will start the liaison job, which pays $101,500 per year, Aug. 19.

My question exactly.
Where does this money come from?
He can just hire for his team like that?
Smells foul to me.
