Mowing vulnerable lots

Post by Gloria » Thu Oct 03, 2013 6:40 am

Team Recovery is currently mowing our 2nd street house, and the duplex on Walnut Court.

When we stop mowing Dancy Terrace, should we use the money we save to mow these and other vulnerable properties like 1323 Ionia?

What is the group's position on this?

Joe and I don't mind contributing for the upkeep of 2nd st and Walnut Court, but we should have a different plan if we want to expand our maintenance of the lawns.

It gets really tricky as to where to mow...I was doing 1528 Walnut and 321 E 5th...to keep code from filing more reports...these are places that the owner wants taken down. There's so many places within the hood that need attention.

if there are donations coming in, lets spend them on mowing vulnerable lots. I think the requirement should be that we only mow a lot with a historic building on it, no empty lots, or no lots where the house is not endangered. We could come up with a priority list.

The house at 7th and Pearl should probably be on the list.

And I think I still have the PSOS weed whacker.

I agreed to mow Dancy through December 2013.
Sharon's $100
My $50

The gardener is mowing 1323 Ionia for me tomorrow and will continue. I'm paying him on my own.
I will still give $50/month to PSOS.
That's one more yard/month with my gardener.
However if we can identify a place, I will ask my gardener and pay him directly.

We've Sharon's $100/month beginning in Jan.
I suppose if I asked I could get others to give and adopt a house.

Continue to make a list of those most in need.

I can take the house at Pearl and 7th. I think there may be two of them - regardless, I'll cover it. I have a gas powered weedeater. Will get it done this weekend.

1647 Pearl mowed...wow what a mess! And I spoke to Vic, the owner of the Superette and he said he'd ask his lawn guy to weed-eat next time he came over to help make it look even better. :)
