Billy Motes' property manager, Mary, got authorization to enter for 30 days.

I took Mary over the Walnut court this morning and showed her mothballing in process.

they are ready to roll.

Billy's property manager Mary is walking code through the house this morning.

Mary will take the lead on the mothball work. I am meeting with her on Monday to go over the plan

I spoke with Lisa on Friday. Unfortunately little has been done at Billy's.
They "painted" a bit of the outside, but according to Lisa who was there with code, more "stuff" appeared to be in the inside than was before, and besides the slapping up of minimal paint (and poorly done,) nothing was done. Mary (Billy's property manager) asked over Lisa to do a pre-inspection and made it seem as though a lot was done and then lamented that they had no money and there was "too much to do." I understand she even mentioned demolition.
The clock on the 6-month COA didn't start ticking until November 29th. I don't have the specific reason as to why, but it is not important as it benefits the house and the owner with more time.
Lisa gave Mary my contact information but I have not heard from her as of yet. Billy is very easy to talk with but I am not so sure I can convince him of the importance of following through with the mothball COA, but I plan on giving him a call this week. (I have talked with Mary before.)
Ultimately if he doesn't follow through with the COA, the home will be demolished as it still sits on code's "non-existent" formal track to demolition list and I would gather they are itching to reek some havoc in the hood.
I will say this: As I look up on this screen and see the "468 days without a demoliton" pic, I'm not about to give up now.

Before you say " ... it will be demolish because ...," remember that 1647 Pearl St was stopped. That MCCD still has to get a COA , or rather the Demo contractor has to get a COA that is administratively approved using the formal track to justify the administrative approval. It is a new COA and can be appealed so that after issuance of the COA, we have 21 days to file the appeal. The city has been put on notice about this and unless the city breaks the law, this appeal takes the house back to the HPC and will stop the demolition. In fact, they probably won't let it go that far as they didn't over the Pearl St house. MCCD may try it to see if we are sleeping at the wheel, but OGC does not want that appeal process used.
