Anyone know if this is the right house?

Post by JaxUnicorn » Fri Aug 02, 2013 11:18 pm

I found this video on YouTube. It says the house caught fire on 12/31/07 and the address is 200 East 3rd, but I don't see that this address exists/existed. Anyone know?

I paused it through-out. Pretty sure I recognized the houses on the south of it.
There are a bunch of vacant lots on the south side of this block.
Hold on.

I remember that fire, and it was burned out pretty badly. It also damaged the fence of the neighbor across the alley. If memory serves me correctly, I think it actually burned twice and they were out there the night before, but it was a much smaller fire inside.

Yes, this is the one that burned twice in the same night. Story was that vagrants were living inside, owner kicked them out and tried to secure it. They burned it in retaliation. First fire was relatively small and was extinguished quickly, but I guess they were pretty determined.

Not long afterwards the property on the SE corner (1253?) enclosed the entire section with a fence. Never was sure how that happened - was the lot acquired after the fire, or was it part of the 1253 N. Market parcel originally?

Like you, I'm not sure how the deal was made...but it wasn't long after it was taken down, the fence was up
