1814 Liberty Street

Post by movedsouth » Tue Oct 02, 2012 7:01 pm

This is the house between the Pacesetter building and BMLR Houring on Liberty, just north of 8th.

The last couple weeks, a dog was kept in the building, and apparently someone was living in it. Lots of human waste. Someone took the dog and brought it to ACPS earlier today. The front door was kicked in, and one of the windows on the side had its burglar bars removed. The front door and the window is now boarded. The window needs more screws, it is pretty lose right now but I hope it will last for a day or two. There are likely other windows that are easy to enter. Most of the burglar bars are loose.

Gloria and I went in the dark of night at boarded up a window opening: the entire window was removed and the siding pulled off so entrance in the side was easy.
Thought there was a stop station in the Pacesetter?
That manager offered one up?
That didn't happen?
That corner is bad, bad news.

Pacesetter did light up and clean up that corner a bit. But well, at night Pacesetter is closed, and they can't really do much about the house they don't own. I agree that this corner needs a serious "make over". I believe last weekend, some people went and collected trash. There was a HUGE pile. The city even picked it up pretty quickly (most of it). But there is again trash everywhere. Just a couple days later.

Yeah, I made one big pile of the big stuff & bagged all the loose stuff. Called a care request for a pu and was floored that it only took 2 days to get it picked up :o CoCo actually helped a bit.
Probably do a trash sweep early Saturday just to keep up with the litterbugs.
