December/January Holiday 2011.12 Project?

These are the smaller projects that generally don't require as many volunteers or labor

December/January Holiday 2011.12 Project?

Post by iloveionia » Thu Sep 29, 2011 8:52 pm

I plan on being in Springfield for 2 weeks around Christmas and New Year's.

I would enjoy tackling a small Springfield beautification project if a few of you are game.

Haven't put my mind to thinking about what that could be, but putting it out there for ideas.

I wish something could be done for the Drew Castle.

You know I'm in. We had discussed earlier in the year maybe that little "former candy store" house across from 1951 Market could be our winter project. It was referred by Alicia Dorsey Frank. Maybe we could paint the front of the house and do a little landscaping? There is very little yard...maybe even just a spot for pots. I have to ride by and look again. But it could definitely use some love as I recall.

Debbie, can you get specifics about the tenant/owner?

How about Walnut Court as our project? We can paint and landscape.

I think I wrote this pre-This Place Matters. Maybe this house Debbie talks of could be a make it happen?

We have to "finish" Walnut Court and possibly Lena's.

We need $5,000 free and clear. Keep money in the bank, mothball, lawsuit, corp start-up. How do we get this?

I did ask about the former candy store house. Alicia Dorsie-Frank brought it to my attention. But we probably need to save our money for Walnut Court at this point, as much as I would love to help out a neighbor. We simply can't fail on the mothballing project at Walnut Court. Unless we are not ready to start the mothballing, that's what we should do in December.
