looking for info on a property

Post by jenn_8675309 » Fri Jan 03, 2014 4:58 pm

Anyone know anything about the Columbus Drew house at 245 W. 3RD? All I know is what I've found on Google. Even though I am still in the process of listing my house my husband has joined the search for a historic home. He has ridden by the above listed home and wants me to research it. I see that it was listed in 2007-2008 for $390K, Ouch! Now it looks completely abandoned and overgrown. Anything that you guys can share would be appreciated:-)

Thanks Gloria, I found what I was looking for in the comment section of the link you sent me. I am glad it sold and can't wait to see the restoration. It was a stretch for me to even considering buying this one, it is WAY over my budget. Still have my fingers crossed that the house on W. 10th will be available when I'm ready to buy:-)

Ok, someone posted that it had been sold. It sounds like it is/was tied up in a ridiculous legal mess. Sad to hear that it will continue to sit and waste away. If my budget were big enough I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Does the woman really want $300K for it? I don't think it'll ever sell at that price.

It is tied up in a very ugly legal mess and to be honest I'm not sure how much the owner wants for it. But until the lawyers are done, it will continue to sit and those of us who love it will continue to watch over it and take care of it as best we can.

It is listed again, this time for $75K. I am guessing that the woman that owned it has passed away? I posted this on another thread, but it was really old. Does anyone have any idea/guess of what the restoration budget would be on this amazing home? Even though I have increased my budget I still don't think I could swing it. It is nice to dream though;-)

Yes. The owner passed and prior to that she deeded the home to a new owner.
The home is still in a legal mess but through the sale process would have to get cleaned up, meaning clear title.
$300,000 minimum.
Roof, drainage, new systems including electrical and plumbing.
