Re: 1232 N. Laura Street

jenn_8675309, I have a project for you! And I have lots of historic restoration knowledge and can help walk you through the red tape. If you'd like to talk about it, give me a call. Or heck, if you'd just like to talk preservation and Springfield, give me a call.

Re: 1232 N. Laura Street

Wow, thanks for taking the time to tell us about it! It does sound like a great property with a pretty hefty purchase price. Maybe they will lower the price after a bit and you'll still be looking! But in the meantime, there are many other properties in Springfield that are available for less money....

Re: 1232 N. Laura Street

I wasn't even aware that property was for sale. I've not been inside it but from the outside it appears to be a GREAT property! I would not worry too much about the basement. Let us know when you've been inside and what you think.

They did not state when they will hold another meeting, but Gloria is who received notice of the meeting so I'm sure she'll let us know. :)

Re: Downtown Historic District

I cannot a attach the PowerPoint presentation that was given at the meeting because it is over 2MB and the site won't allow it. Johannes, how can I upload to our "cloud"? Or if someone wants to see it, let me know and I'll email it. It is just under 4 MB.

Downtown Historic District

Yesterday I attended a DIA Historic Workshop. The City is attempting to designate downtown as a National Historic District. Susan Grandin, the COJ attorney who is assigned to HPC, read the City's definition of historic. I'm waiting for a copy of the presentation but from what I gathered, the boundar...

Re: New To Jacksonville...Looking at Springfield

With a budget of $500k including renovations, you will have many choices here in Springfield! There are restored homes that have recently sold for around $170-$200k, which is certainly well under your budget. Depending on what you'd like to do, sounds like one that need restoration would be a good c...
