Re: 317 W. 10th

Excellent! If you would save the "heart" plywood for us when you remove it, we'll use it to protect another house pending a family. Just post here and we'll arrange a pick up.

Welcome to the 'hood!

Re: CDBG monies

See Michelle Tappouni (sp?) if you want to get involved in the EPIC communities initiative. It is, or course, being run through SPAR and the money is being steered to Kevin Gay, but you can get involved on the committee and make your wishes known. At the recent neighborhood meeting at Paul Davis, I ...

317-319 W. 9th demolished when?

This is the house I've talked about. Lady went on vacation, and when she came home, found the city had demolished her house. Next door neighbor asked to go inside and get her family pictures, and they would not allow him to. She was homeless, and fortunately, a nearby widower took her in. I don't kn...

Re: 316 West 12th Street -- demolished2006

Then this may be the one. Yes, 2008-ish sounds right. After we moved to 9th and Pearl in summer 2007, Dave and I delivered the Woman's Club newsletter in the NW quadrant. We walked down 12th Street west of Pearl to see if there were any occupied houses. We saw that house, and could see it was empty....

Re: Meeting with Council President Bill Gulliford

Hee, hee, Cathy.

He gets listened to because he has rehabbed a lot of homes and been active in the community. You know I'm right. We need to have succinct and cogent arguments to refute what he says or we lose the argument.

Re: 237 West 12th street -- demolished late 1980s

Maybe I missed them, but I don't see kids out on the playground all the way over to the street. They could have left the whole row of houses on the 200 block, north side of the street, and built the playground behind them. Not that they were "into" saving houses any more then, than they are now.
